FAQs

The lights
Are all your lights weatherproof?Every light we sell is rated IP44 or IP65, so they stay out through rain and frost. If one stops working in the first year, email us and we’ll replace it.
Where can I use the lights?Anywhere outdoors that gets sun during the day. Paths, beds, fences, decks, driveways. The one thing that matters is the panel: leave it in deep shade and the light won’t charge.
Why are all your lights solar powered?Because it removes the hard part. Mains garden lighting means a trench, a cable and usually an electrician. A solar light you push into the ground and walk away from. It also costs nothing to run, which mains lighting can’t say.
Do I need an electrician or any wiring to install KimaSolar lights? No. There’s no cable and nothing to plug in. Most of the range pushes into soil by hand; the wall and fence lights take two screws.
How long does it take for the lights to fully charge? One good day of sun. If it’s been overcast the light will still come on, just not for as long.
How long will the lights stay lit each night?Six to ten hours from a full charge, depending on the model and how much sun it got. In midwinter expect the lower end.
Returns and problems
If I don't like the lights, can I return them?Yes, within 100 days. They need to come back unused and in the original box. If you’re returning part of a bundle, the rest of the order gets repriced at normal rates.
What should I do if my order arrives damaged or faulty?Open the box when it arrives and email us if anything’s broken or wrong. A photo helps. We’ll replace it.
